We are a small technology consulting firm based in Boston Massachusetts. We are good at what we do - helping companies big and small to design, build, and maintain simple and useful web applications. We’ve been at for nearly 10 years, and have seen many trends come and go, and have learned first hand what works and what doesn’t. During this time, we’ve built a great reputation for ourselves and are proud of what we do.
- Integrity
- Integrity and trust is critical to a good working relationship. This allows everyone to focus on the project and deliver the absolute best results. As consultants, we live and die by our reputation and integrity - it is what makes us who we are.
- Transparency
- Our entire process is transparent. From your project website, where all internal notes and code changes can be reviewed to project email lists where all news (good and not so good) is available.
- Communication
- Part of our great transparency is great communication. Keeping everyone in sync is critical for success. Our progress is viewable throughout the process on your project website. Our team is available on instant messenger and email. We are always available over the phone and are delighted to have you visit to our downtown office.
- Simple, Modular and Clean
- Some people believe that the KISS (Keep it Simple Stupid) and the DRY (Don’t Repeat Yourself) strategies are mutually exclusive, we believe they actually work well together. For instance, a balance of understandable code can happily live within a well-thought-out re-usable library. Our style is clean - from consistent formatting and inline documentation to following clean design patterns.

Brief History
In the late 1990’s, Jay invented vermonster.com as a part-time, online Vermont gifts store with distribution of local products from Bennington Vermont.

Vermonster.com in 1998
The name was later used as an alias on initial consultant/client placement and opportunities boards. After nurturing a successful track-record, the name stuck. Vermonster has Vermont connotations but we are based in Boston, Massachusetts.
Trivia: The actual name vermonster is rumored to have been influenced by an appetizer food special at a local establishment in Burlington, Vermont, where Jay attended college.
